The Hans Foundation in 2016 with KGMU established a world-class eye bank in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and by performing 2414 corneal transplant surgeries in the last five years it has become the highest performing eye bank in the state. THF has established three more eye banks in Rishikesh, Guwahati and Varanasi.

The Hans Foundation and EFICOR are working together for the empowerment of the community through educating and strengthening the Village Health Sanitation & Nutrition Committees (VHSNC) in 30 villages of Panna, MadhyaPradesh. The program will directly benefit 3000 Pregnant, 2833 lactating mothers, 200 ASHA and 280 Aanganwadi workers in a span of three years.

THF has joined hands with the leading hospitals in the country like National Heart Institute and Wockhardt Hospitals to rekindle hope for these children born with congenital heart disease. Over the years, this program has transformed the lives of more than 700 children across the country.

The Hans Foundation is supporting two schools run by Asha Ka Jharna in Sikar and Nawalgarh, district of Rajasthan for children with hearing impairment and intellectual disabilities. The project is providing quality education, therapies, vocational skill training, guidance and counselling to more than 139 special children and their families.

The Hans Foundation and Indian Red Cross Society started Arogyam – A Bike Ambulance Program in the two most underserved mountainous blocks in Panchkula – Morni and Pinjore. The project consists of seven paramedics who operate through motorcycle ambulances to reach these remote areas catering approximately 150-200 patients in a month.

‘The Hans Foundation along with Inclusive Divyanjan Entrepreneur Association – IDEA is working on a new program that aims to support 5,000 PwDs in getting jobs or becoming entrepreneurs in the next five years. Through this partnership, we are working together towards creating 1,00,000 jobs for PwDs in the country.

The Evangelical Fellowship of India Commission on Relief (EFICOR), with support from THF is serving marginalized communities in terms of health indicators in Panna, Madhya Pradesh. Since the last five years, more than 3,000 pregnant women and 2,833 lactating mothers have been educated and trained in 30 villages of Panna.

The Hans Foundation in association with Score Foundation has impacted the lives of thousands of visually impaired citizens through ‘Project Eyeway’. The project addresses issues related to awareness level, reach, resources and people’s perception towards blindness by providing relevant information through trained counsellors.

The Hans Foundation and Asha Ka Jharna jointly implemented a project to cover all types of disabilities by providing comprehensive services including special education, therapy, vocational training, guidance and counseling that benefits more than 200 children in Nawalgarh and Sikar in Rajasthan.

The Hans Foundation has been supporting three substantial midday meal programs across the state of Uttarakhand, benefitting more than 10,000 children across 75 schools. In addition, THF along with The Akshaya Patra Foundation has started work to set up 9 centralised kitchens in the state of Uttarakhand to serve wholesome mid-day meals to 3,00,000 children.

THF has supported HEAL (Health and Education for All) in building a residential home and in running the school that can support the education of 1,000 children in Andhra Pradesh. This school provides quality education to orphans, children living with single parents and children from underprivileged backgrounds.

COROAT in collaboration with THF is working for the betterment of women and children from underprivileged backgrounds. The project especially focuses on children with learning difficulties and through various interventions their learning outcomes are being improved in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. Till date more than 2,500 children from 20 schools have benefited from this intervention.

Bhavishya Bharat with the support of The Hans Foundation initiated ‘Operation Sahayata’ aimed at providing safety and relief to individuals, communities and frontline corona warriors in West and North Sikkim. As part of this initiative mobile OPD services & health equipment were also provided to ensure safety and prevent further transmission of infections.

The Hans Foundation’s partner- Aasraa Trust carried out an extensive door-to-door awareness drive and distributed more than 15,000 parcels of ration kits and over 14,000 dry ration packs to families in need and urgent labourers. Also, over 87 phones in communities and 19 tablets in the shelter homes under ‘The Silver Lining’ project have been distributed along with education kits to make the process of digital learning easier.

The project ‘Community Inclusion and Rural Advocacy Forums for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)’ is supported by The Hans Foundation and implemented by Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD INDIA), in 100 Panchayats of district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh aims at identification and nurturing the abilities of PwDs.

The Hans Foundation in association with Government of Uttarakhand has launched development projects worth Rs. 105 crore for the state on the birth anniversary of Mata Shri Mangla Ji. As part of this project, safe drinking water will be supplied to 200 interior villages under the Hans Jal Dhara Yojana.

The Hans Foundation in partnership with NM Sadguru Water & Development Foundation, created a livelihood enhancement project which generated 9,325 man-days of employment for 750 households. The initiative has provided immediate relief to the unemployed labour force and also been substantial in providing livelihoods to migrants returning from different cities to Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh.

THF along with Swayamkrushi is working towards rehabilitation, education and integration of adults and children with developmental disabilities under the supervision of resident staff members who trained to handle issues related to daily life including judgment, problem-solving, money matters and personal hygiene.

The team members educated the parents and created awareness about home learning, additionally library books and worksheets were distributed to 254 children benefitting 7 schools in Bageshwar and overall 30 schools in Uttarakhand.

The Hans Foundation along with the Govt. of Uttarakhand is working on strengthening infrastructure and improving pedagogy, also constructing new toilets and repairing the existing sanitation facilities with the help of Himmotthan: An Associate Organization of the Tata Trusts in 95 government schools of Uttarakhand.

The Hans Foundation in partnership with Wockhardt Foundation and HelpAge India has been providing preventive and curative services through 21 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in Uttarakhand and benefited over 5.5 lakh patients till date. Each MMU comprises a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, lab attendant and a diagnostic kit facility.

The Hans Foundation with the help of their agricultural partner, Himalayan Action Research Centre – HARC, inaugurated its first collection centre for organic pulses, vegetables, millets, fruits and honey under the project – ‘Integrated Village Development Program’ by benefitting the farmers from 11 villages of the Pindar valley in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand.

Spirit of Humanity, an initiative by Americares India has recognised and rewarded six NGOs within various categories in its finale held in Mumbai. Spirit of Humanity is a national-level platform for collaboration, capacity building and recognition within the social sector in India. The finale of the 9th Spirit of Humanity Awards was a melting pot of not-for-profit organisations, academia, government authorities, thought leaders and corporations.The 9th Spirit of Humanity Awards was organised with the support of Abbott, Americares, JW Marriott, KPMG in India, SPJIMR and The Hans Foundation. The winners of the award received a cash donation, trophy and certificate of excellence from thought-leaders and industry experts.
