The Hans Foundation supports not-for-profit organizations, institutions, companies whose mandates aligns with the vision and mission of The Hans Foundation. The recipient organization should have 12A and 80G registration. In case of funding out of the FC fund, the NGO should also have a valid FCRA certificate. NGO should be compliant with the law of the land.
The Hans Foundation gives or allocates grants for the projects in the fields of health, education. livelihoods, disability, women’s empowerment, water and sanitation.
The following is a list of documents that are required by The Hans Foundation:
The Hans Foundation makes grants once a year which is in April. The Hans Foundation funding of grants aligns with the financial year i.e. April – March. The selection is done through a defined process.
The organizations reach out to The Hans Foundation or vice versa. As a first step, the organizations are required to submit the Concept Note, once it is internally approved by the Proposal Review Committee, the particular organization is requested to submit a detailed proposal. The organizations are at times also called for making a presentation in The Hans Foundation for addressing queries on the proposal. Once the Proposal is internally deliberated and feedback given to the submitting organization, an “online link” is shared with the organization for submission of the Proposal and other organizational documents. The team of The Hans Foundation also conducts Program and Financial due diligence of the organization before arriving at the final decision on the Proposal. Once the Proposal is approved the MoU is signed for initiation of the project.

Yes. The team carries out visits before the funding for due diligence, as well as post-funding visits to see the effective utilization of funds by the organization as well as the efficacy of the program.
The Hans Foundation accepts online donations only in Indian Rupees (INR).
Yes, a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) can make a donation if holding a valid India Passport. For donation above Rs. 50,000, the PAN number would be required.
Yes, the website is safe for making online donation transactions. Also, the payment gateway (CC Avenue) is a recognized third party payment gateway. So any transaction also is thoroughly secured by it.
There is no specific amount that should be donated. One may donate as much as one feels towards the charitable and developmental work being done by The Hans Foundation.
Yes. Before making the payment online, there is an option where one may select his/ her option. The receipt will be sent on the email ID provided.
A donor will get a deduction of 50% of the donation under section 80G from his/her taxable income under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
