The Hans Foundation (“THF”) is a registered public charitable trust established in 2009 that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organisations in India through its donor – RIST, USA.

Delhi School Health Clinics

The Hans Foundation has partnered with the Government of NCT of Delhi and launched 20 School Health Clinics (SHC) in the government school of Delhi to provide primary physical and mental healthcare services to children. Each SHC has one Doctor, one Psychologist, one Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (School Health Clinic Assistant) and one Multitask Worker. These clinics have been functioning for more than 3 months now and a project implementation team is required to supervise and ensure the efficient and sustainable implementation of the project. Individuals from varied backgrounds will be hired for the different specialized positions that are required in this team.

A pioneer in the education and healthcare space, the Education and Health Departments of the Government of Delhi have come together to ensure the holistic development and well-being of government school students through the School Health Clinics Pilot Project.

After setting a benchmark in the field of public healthcare through Mohalla Clinics, the Government of NCT of Delhi is all set to develop a new model of change in the field of child health care through School Health Clinics.

Key Features of the Project:

– Provision of first aid to students
– Mental health counselling sessions
– Regular health screening and primary treatment though OPD
– Referrals to secondary and tertiary hospitals of the Delhi Govt. with regular follow-ups
– Need-based group sessions on life skills

Delhi School Health Clinics

The Hans Foundation has partnered with The Government of NCT of Delhi in launching a first of its kind initiative – providing primary healthcare and mental health services through School Health Clinics in schools under the Directorate of Education, GNCTD. Each clinic will have one Psychologist, one ANM (Nursing Officer) and one Multi-Task Worker along with one Doctor for a cluster of five schools, who will visit each of these five schools once-a-week on rotational basis. These clinics will start functioning in 15 schools, as a pilot project, for a duration of 3 months (extendable further), following which the government will adopt the project as a scheme.

– Regular health screening and primary treatment though OPD
– Referrals to secondary and tertiary hospitals of the Delhi Govt. with regular follow-ups
